How many celebrities will we need to lose to prescription drug abuse before doctors stop prescribing them? Is the high profile deaths of many of our beloved music and screen stars not enough to make you stop? Are you fearless, hiding behind a medical degree?
Celebrities wake up! The doctors want you to get on these drugs and the reason is simple, once you’re hooked, they have you right were they want you. The masterful dispensing of these legal killers is no different from the drug pusher on the street, except for the fact, doctors have a licenses to kill. Once you’re dependent on the drugs you will need your prescription every 30 days (or less) which means your doctor will be seeing a lot more of you. Maybe you won’t have to pay, maybe your insurance company is footing the bill, but you will pay and possibly with your life.
Maybe you’re not famous, you may be a star father, mother, sister or brother. The doctors don’t care who you are or what you have to lose, they simply want to keep the money and you coming in.
A couple weeks ago, Los Angeles prosecutors had charged Michael Jackson’s late physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, with involuntary manslaughter. Murray pleaded not guilty to the charge, but he admitted giving Michael the powerful anesthetic “Propofol” as a sleep aid on the day Michael died.
Since that hearing, Michael’s father Joe Jackson has not been satisfied with the outcome. He wants to dig deeper into this case…he believes there is more than meets the eye.
Back in court Friday morning, a Los Angeles judge just granted Joe Jackson permission to obtain his son Michael Jackson’s medical records. But the catch is that Joe nor the public will be able to see the documents. Judge Mitchell Beckloff stated that only a hired ‘medical expert’ could view the documents for Joe.
After viewing the documents, reports say that Joe will then decide whether or not to take further legal action against Dr. Conrad Murray, who was the Doctor with Michael the time of his death.
8.97 million people tuned in for Sunday’s Video Music Awards, giving MTV its biggest audience since 2004. The show, which featured Kanye West doing…well, you all know, became the biggest cable show this year for the coveted 12-34 demographic. In total, the broadcast was up six percent.
So what did MTV do right? Since no one knew about the Kanye Kraziness before the show, surely there was something that drew in the crowds. Maybe it was the Michael Jackson tribute, maybe it was the New Moon trailer, maybe it was the return to Radio City Music Hall. Whatever the reason, MTV has a hit on its hands.
So maybe the VMAs will stay in New York for a few years. Or maybe Russell Brand will be invited back again. Or maybe, just maybe, MTV will serve Kanye West more alcohol next year, hoping for lightning to strike twice.
LaToya Jackson, well-known for her deep sense of spirituality and reverence for the deceased, commented on how her brother Michael Jackson looked at his funeral. Usmagazine.com reported, “His hair was done beautifully,” La Toya, 53, adds. “His makeup was done beautifully.”
She could’ve at least pulled out a word other than “beautiful” from her grab bag of superficial adjectives. The guy put a lot of effort into his final “look,” so she could’ve commemorated his fashion sense a little more thoroughly with such words as “chicly,” “fiercely” or “wildly.” For instance, she could’ve said, “His hair was done perfectly. He looked really fierce where he lay. His Sergeant Pepper’s jacket matched well with the gold-interior of the coffin.”
Our good friends at TMZ are reporting plans for Michael’s kids to attend the private Buckley School have been scrapped. The children will continue to be home schooled by the same tutors that have been assigned by Michael himself.
The kid’s home schooling that will take place at their new home in Encino, will have the same environment of a regular school complete with a freshly built schoolyard for recess and PE. Field trips will also be planned to give the kids the total school experience.
No word on if a bully will be hired to harass the kids, after all I had one in school, something tell me the family would stop short of making the schooling completely real.
This exclusive comes from a very good source, ThecounT himself. I have personal knowledge that La Toya Jackson received many boxes of Michael’s belonging delivered to her Las Vegas high-rise Condo!
You may have seen it on the news this week, moving trucks at Michael’s Holmby Hills mansion being loaded with Michaels’ belongings, well now we know where they were headed. It only stands to reason, if La Toya received some of Michael’s belonging that other members of the Jackson family did as well.
No word yet on exactly what was in the boxes but I know as a fact they came directly from Michael’s estate, and get this, the boxes were delivered in limousines! Leave it to Michael to ride in style if after his passing.
It’s a rap; Michael Jackson is finally laid to rest. I am prepared to let it go and have avoided covering the funeral on these pages because I felt it was the family’s desire to say goodbye to Michael with as much privacy as possible, while still recognizing the great interest the world had for the final curtain call for the King of Pop.
I decided to write this footnote after seeing this picture of Michael’s kids asleep in a vehicle used to carry them to several of the functions that day.
To me, this picture puts a cap on the months of emotion we have all experienced since Michael’s passing.
Goodbye Michael, I did all I could to honor you while you made your great transition to the other side, to the light. Now the time has come for all of us, the living, to try and pick up the pieces and move on. It won’t be easy, however, we will always have your music to continue to be the soundtrack of our lives.
“Someone owes Doctor Conrad Murray a huge apology, I guess” said Jimmy Kimmel, the witty late night TV host, as he played clips from a now famous Video tape showing Michael Jackson alive and jumping out of the Coroner’s van. Kimmel shows more of the tape then most of us have seen up to this point, which includes some interesting people also exiting the vehicle. I won’t give too much away. Worth a watch!
Barney’s shut Jackson down after he spent $224,000 in one month. Our friends at TMZ revealed Jackson’s credit score was an average of 563 compared to an average of 672 for other Californians. The reason for the low score was attributed to:
A derogatory public record or collection filed
The amount owed on delinquent accounts
Number of accounts with delinquency
Too many inquiries in the last 12 months
A cash-poor Michael had over $650,000 in the bank when he died, did I just say “cash-poor?”
