Jacksonville Teens ID’d As Saturday Victims In Fatal Fiery Single-Vehicle Mustang Crash

JACKSONVILLE, FL. (THECOUNT) — Lenny Espinal-Medina has been identified as the teen killed in an early Saturday morning single-vehicle crash in Jacksonville, Florida.

Espinal-Medina, 17, died in the fiery crash that also injured driver, 18-year-old Naafay Fazli, and passenger, 16-year-old Jason Ortueta.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Fazli was operating a Mustang on the Southside Connector exit ramp to Regency Square Blvd, just after 1:00 a.m. on Saturday, when he lost control, crossed centerlines, rolled over several times, before coming to a rest on an embankment entrance ramp.

The teen became entrapped in the Ford following the violent crash.

Fazli suffered critical injuries and was transported to an area hospital along with his passenger, Ortueta, who was transported with serious injuries.

Espinal-Medina died at the scene of multiple blunt force trauma and fire related injuries.

According to FHP, charges are pending in the fatal collision.

At Least 70 Evacuated From Jacksonville NC Hotel After Building “Compromised” By Hurricane Florence

JACKSONVILLE, NC. (THECOUNT) — Jacksonville, NC, officials have evacuated about 70 occupants, including children and pets, from the Triangle Motor Inn, located at, 246 Wilmington Hwy, Jacksonville, NC, after the structure became “compromised” after whipped by extreme winds compliments of hurricane Florence.

About 70 occupants have been evacuated from a hotel after hurricane force winds threatened the structural integrity of the building.

The 70, including an infant, children and their pets, have been taken to the Jacksonville Center for Public Safety while a solution is sought for where they can stay. No one was found to be injured, nor were any of them injured in the transport.

About 12:45 AM, Jacksonville 9-1-1 received a call about damage to the Triangle Motor Inn at 246 Wilmington Hwy. A basketball sized hole was found in a corner room by an Officer. Firefighters later found life-threatening damage to the structure. Cinder blocks that were part of the structure were crumbling in some places and residents were still in many of the rooms. Billy Maddox ID’d As FL Man Shot Dead Inside Jacksonville Home

Billy Maddox has been named as the Florida man found shot and killed Monday night. He was 58.

Maddox, full name Billy Gene Maddox, was found lifeless at a home in the Pecan Park area on the city’s Northside, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said.

He was found about 9 p.m. Monday fatally shot at a home on Bernard Road, Jacksonville, Florida, police said.

Detectives said they’re talking with other people who were present at the time of the shooting.

Family Remembers Rusk Purple Heart Recipient Killed On Motorcycle In Jacksonville TX

The Texas Department of Public Safety identified Danny Crouch as the motorcyclist killed in a crash Tuesday afternoon. He was 68.

According to authorities, Crouch of Rusk was traveling south on Farm-to-Market Road when he failed to negotiate the curve. Officials say Crouch crossed the grass median at the intersection of Farm-to-Market 1910 and County Road 1707 where the motorcycle overturned and ejected him.

He was pronounced dead at the scene by Judge Brenda Dominy, his body was taken to Wallace Thompson Funeral Home in Rusk, according to DPS officials. Continue reading

Jaguars Dwayne Gratz ARRESTED Tried To Pay Store With BUBBLE GUM

Dwayne Gratz, the Jacksonville Jaguars starting corner, was arrested on two misdemeanor charges in Miami over trying to pay for items at a convenience store with bubble gum.

He was charged with disorderly intoxication and trespassing after being given a warning. He was released from jail Monday after posting bail.
