Protests have broken out over plans to build a mosque right next to the Tower of Pisa. The protest comes a week after the removal of a Tunisian national by Italian authorities, who allegedly was planning an attack on historical landmark monument.
Twenty-six-year-old Bilel Chahoui, was arrested last Thursday after he posted on social media he was planning on attacking the monument.
Local politician and one of the protest’s biggest leaders, Gianluca Gambini, states the majority of Pisans are against the mosque and warned it might become a center for radicalization. Gambini said: “According to a recent poll, 57 percent of Pisans are against the mosque. Continue reading
The French resort of Cannes has banned full-body, head-covering swimsuits worn by some Muslim women from its beaches, citing concerns about public order.
In case you’ve been out of the fashion loop lately, the burkini, is a head to toe swimsuit designed to be in compliance with the Quran modest dress code for Muslin women. It’s basically like a wetsuit but lighter for mobility and with the standard hijab you see Muslim women wear.
No matter the purpose, the message is being interpreted the same, as a symbol for terrorism. As of today 3 French cities have banned burkinis from being worn in public and at beaches. Continue reading

Everyone knows that Amanda Bynes is in an embarrassing drug-fueled downward spiral and now she is trying to publicly drag President Obama down with her.
Bynes pleaded “not guilty” today to DUI and then had the audacity to contact President Obama, asking him to fire the cop that arrested her, Tweeting:
Hey @BarackObama… I don’t drink. Please fire the cop who arrested me.
Rush Limbaugh had a field day with Bynes’ ludicrous request on his popular talk radio show. Rush tied the mess to Obama’s inclination to cater to Hollywood’s rich and famous. Way to go Amanda!
Bynes faces a minimum of 48 hours in jail … and a maximum of 6 months but because of jail overcrowding, it’s unlikely Bynes will serve more than a few hours.
Amanda wasn’t in court, she was home Tweeting the President — her lawyer entered the plea on her behalf.
Corporate media outlets were all so sure that Egypt’s President Mubarak was going to step down as Egypt’s leader today, but to our surprise and the media’s, he said in a televised statement tonight that he will not be stepping down! The shoes came off fast and the people went ballistic! The world was hit over the head with a big shoe in surprise and shock that Mubarak is going to stay Egypt’s leader. Cairo, Egypt remains to be the central meeting spot for protests and media attention, and, the people are sure enough already planning a super march and protest now that Mubarak stated tonight that he is not leaving office.
Aside from that, we noticed that Mubarak has definitely missed quite a few meals since his last speech when he said he wasn’t going to run in the next election. His face is thinner, mostly around his chin and neck area. He is obviously under a lot of stress being Mr. Hated as of late, and he’s been skipping some of those big meals he once enjoyed.
Look at Mubarak on February 1, and look at him just 10 days later- Feb. 10, since he’s been under constant stress. Wow!
