FAA: Grand Canyon Tour Helicopter Crashes At Least 7 On Board “Substantial Damage”

A tour helicopter carrying at least seven people has crashed near the Grand Canyon Saturday, according to the FAA.

Allen Kenitzer with the Federal Aviation Administration Officer of Communications said Eurocopter EC130 crashed under unknown circumstances in the Grand Canyon.

According to Kenitzer, local authorities say that at least seven people were on board the helicopter.

The aircraft sustained substantial damage, Kenitzer said.

The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate.

Missing Texas Woman FOUND DEAD At Bottom Of Grand Canyon – Kids Safe

According to officials, missing Fort Worth, Texas woman, Sarah Beadle, was located dead about a mile from Phantom Ranch in the Grand Canyon National Park.

Park officials confirmed Thursday that search and rescue crews found a body at the bottom of the Grand Canyon, matching Beadle’s description.

Beadle was reported missing Tuesday after she failed to arrive for her reservation at the Bright Angel Campground. According to NPS, Beadle was hiking down the South Kaibab Trail. Her backpack was found near the junction of the South Kaibab Trail and the River Trail. Two children, ages 10 and 11, who were with her are safe. Continue reading
