Good Idea or Bad Idea: Calvin Klein ‘Threesome’ Billboard Causes Stir

This racy ‘threesome-esque’ billboard is located in SoHo New York. Some say this Calvin Klein ad is a ‘desperate attempt’ to sell their products.

A billboard is supposed to catch your eye, and in this instance, consider that mission accomplished.

What do you think of this billboard? Is it too controversial to have out open in the public for even children to see? Or is okay maybe because it’s in ‘New York’? Tell us, is it a ‘good idea’ or ‘bad idea’.

Passerbys and pros told wcbstv.com their mixed feelings about the ad:

BAD AD IDEA: “It’s just completely out there,” a mother said. “I don’t want the kids to see it.”

BAD AD IDEA: “I think it’s telling people it’s okay to do that, and it’s kind of gross,” Aleasha Stephens, a tourist from Houston, says.

OKAY!: Photography teacher Laura Friesen snapped a photo of it, and plans to discuss it with her students in Denver.

“I took a photo to show it’s shocking, but it can also be on a billboard in NY, and this is what can be in New York,” Friesen said.

Are YOU Going? Katy Perry Now on Tour

The headliner of her own show, Katy Perry, just kicked off her tour in Seattle Washington. Did you know that Katy is on tour?

    Katy Perry

    Katy Perry

We are wondering what is was like? Good? Bad? One review from SeattleWeekly.com, written about her Seattle concert titled, “Dear Katy Perry, You’re a Hack” did not have anything positive to say about her.

Billboard Magazine reports that “The tour will hit theaters with 1,000- to 2,000-seat capacities; there will also be an 11-date European run, including several U.K. performances, and stops in Japan.
“Our philosophy has always been to sell places out,” says Creative Artists Agency’s Mitch Rose, who worked Perry’s tour. “We set the ticket price at $18-$20 for most markets, because we wanted to ensure a sellout. We could have charged more and we know we’re leaving money on the table, but making sure the rooms were packed was our first priority.”
But just because the rooms are small doesn’t mean Perry will keep her show simple. “I have the guy who creates stages for Madonna working on this tour,” she tells Billboard. “I’m indulging my obsession with fruit and cats and designing all different outfits.”"
Katy ends this story by tooting her own horn:
“All the big pop girls come across as being so scared and so distant,” Perry says. “I understand diva-ness, but I cultivate an image as the pop star next door. You need to have some mystery and some privacy, and there are parts of me that I hold back. But at the same time, I love meeting people and e-mailing with them and blogging about funny things.”

Front Row @ The Last Stone Temple Pilots Concert

OH BOY! THE SMOKE HAS FINALLY CLEARED. THE BRAIN FOG HAS DISSIPATED. WHAT A HOLIDAY IT HAS BEEN. WE WERE IN VEGAS UNTIL YESTERDAY ACTUALLY. WOW. SIN CITY IT IS. WE TOPPED OFF OUR VACATION BY ATTENDING AN AMAZING PERFORMANCE FROM STONE TEMPLE PILOTS AT THE PALMS PEARL CONCERT HALL IN LAS VEGAS.

    Scott Weiland

One of our all time favorite bands, Stone Temple Pilots, put on their last show in Vegas. We were there to experience it up front and in the middle.

No messing around for Scott Weiland. No half ass or careless performing. ONLY the BEST this time around. About a month ago, we gave a bad review of Scott’s solo performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live. We thought, “Oh no, not the drugs again!” We were worried that our man Scott was falling to pieces again. We wondered why his former band Velvet Revolver was done playing. Then we heard he was getting back with his original band STP; but turned out wishy washy. Mr. Weiland’s Jimmy Kimmel solo performance debuting his solo record, “Happy in Galoshes”, was an out-of-tune nightmare. At this point, we were thinking about getting back on the drugs! J/K!
