Dead Fan Found Near Paula Abdul’s Home
PEOPLE: By Jessica Gold Haralson and Mark Dagostino
An unidentified woman in her 30s was found dead in her car outside of Paula Abdul’s Los Angeles home on Tuesday afternoon, say authorities.
According to a spokeswoman for the LAPD, “All we know is that a woman was found dead in her vehicle … and police are investigating it at this time.”
The spokeswoman added, “We do not know the cause of why she died. And the L.A. coroner’s office will be following up with an investigation.”
A rep for Abdul told PEOPLE early Wednesday morning that, after a long day at the studio Tuesday, Abdul was still asleep and had not yet commented on what took place outside her home.
Los Angeles station KTLA quoted police Capt. Jim Miller as saying the woman had an infatuation with the American Idol judge.
Abdul Not Home
Rob Bailey, a publicist for Abdul, confirmed to PEOPLE that Abdul was not at home to witness any of the incident.
“Paula was at the studios when this happened,” said Bailey. “She was completely unaware of it until the FOX people were notified.”
