Ohio police are investigating the robbery of a woman that turned deadly at a Columbus gas station after a group of witnesses followed the suspect in an attempt to detain him Sunday morning.
Columbus Division of Police say several males chased a robbery suspect after witnessing him accost a woman visiting a Speedway Gas Station, located at, 1442 N Cassady Ave, Columbus, OH.
After a brief chase, the group of “Good Samaritans” cornered the suspect near the rear of the airport Sheraton Hotel, and an altercation ensued, police say. Continue reading
Darrell Bruffy has been identified as the Ohio man shot and killed during a police-involved shooting in Columbus.
Bruffy, 55, was pulled over after Deputy Jacob Heaberlin responded to the area on reports of an erratic driver traveling on US 62 early evening Wednesday night. Bruffy fled the scene and a chase ensued.
The pursuit ended several minutes and a few miles later at the corner of Eakin Road and Harrisburg Pike, when Bruffy crashed. Moments later, authorities say Bruffy exited the vehicle and began shooting immediately. Heaberlin returned fire after he was shot once in the lower right abdomen. Derek Walton, a Columbus firefighter, has been identified as the man killed in a motorcycle crash Tuesday evening near downtown Columbus.
Walton was operating a Suzuki motorcycle when the wreck occurred before 10 p.m. at the intersection of E Long St. and N 11th St., Columbus, OH, the Columbus Division of Police said.

Sue Doody, the founder of Lindey’s Restaurant in German Village area of Columbus, Ohio, has died after a battle with cancer.
Doody, 83, founded the restaurant in 1981.

Casey Clark has been named as one of the dead in a Columbus, GA., murder-suicide.
Clark, 29, died after being shot by 56-year-old Denis McGibney. He then turned the gun on himself. The relationship between the pair is unclear.
Police say the murder-suicide occurred at Greystone Falls Apartments, 1701 Williams Court, Columbus, GA 31904.
On Sunday, March 20 around 1:10 p.m. police received a welfare check call at the apartment by friends of Clark who stated she would not answer the door and they could hear a baby crying.
When police arrived, entry was made into the apartment by forcing open the front door. Once inside the apartment, they discovered a deceased male and female. The baby was located unharmed. Continue reading
11-year-old Rajai Joyce is missing and the Columbus Police are asking for the public’s help to find her. She disappeared from the northeast side of Columbus, OH.
Police said Joyce was last seen leaving her home near Apley Place and Thornapple Drive Thursday. They added the girl suffers from asthma and may be in need immediate medical attention.
She is described as approximately 5’8” tall, weighing approximately 200 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a purple shirt, purple jacket, blue jeans, and red and white Kangaroo shoes with a green bag.
Police said her hair was fashioned in the popular braids at the bottom and buns at the top.

Black Lives Matter activist MarShawn McCarrel committed suicide, shooting himself on the steps shot of the Ohio Statehouse in Columbus.
MarShawn, 23, and his mother had recently attended the NAACP awards for his work organizing protests in Ohio after Michael Brown’s shooting in 2014.

The miracle of childbirth turned into a double miracle after new mother, Shelly Cawley, woke up from a week-long coma upon hearing her newborn’s cries.
Doctors gave Cawley little hope for recovery, but then dad, Jeremy, had a brilliant idea, he placed their infant child close to mom, who heard the the cries and awoke. Medical personnel at CMC NorthEast is calling the recovery nothing short of a miracle.
