Hampton Roads Regional Jail “Employee SHOT” Hours After Facility Praised VA Chief Seat Win

Hours after congratulating Hampton Roads Regional Jail Chief Information Officer, Cliff Hayes, aka, C.E. “Cliff” Hayes Jr., for his win to retain his seat in Virginia’s 77th District, a jail employee was shot and is listed in critical with life threatening injuries.

The post reads: “It is with great pleasure that we recognize an amazing accomplishment by our Chief Information Officer, Cliff Hayes. Last night, Cliff won 83% of the vote to retain his seat in Virginia’s 77th District. As he calls it, he has spent a lifetime fighting for Chesapeake. We’re honored to have such dedicated staff here at HRRJ. Congrats Cliff!”

The shooting occurred in the 600 block of Gloucester Drive Wednesday night. Dispatchers received the call at 9:31 p.m. When police arrived at the scene, they found the 39-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Continue reading
