Ay Dios Mio. The Jonas Brothers train is pulling forward to the next stop on the most disastrous publicity tour of 2009. After having their show moved to Sunday night, Joe dancing (poorly) to the Beyonce “Single Ladies” song , they have now brought their mother into the mix. The pop band who blazed up the charts and into the hearts of your kid sister are gracing the cover of the new issue of Good Housekeeping. Yikes. In the interview the Jonas mom, Denise, proceeds to speak about their sexual temptations and succeeds to speak on the behalf of her sons’ abstinence. Here’s an excerpt to illustrate my point.
“They are men. They have desires. They have testosterone,” she says. “If they make a mistake, I’m not going to hate them.”
“I don’t think they are above or below being seduced,” she adds. “I would be foolish if I thought that. They are tested and tested, like every one of us. I pray for them.”

As for the purity rings Kevin, 21, Joe, 19, and Nick, 16, all wear, Denise says it was a private decision that’s gotten some unwanted attention.

The talented and beloved David Gahan, lead singer of Depeche Mode, fell in his dressing room Tuesday night just before the band’s performance, and was rushed to a hospital in Athens, Greece.
Depeche Mode had to cancel their performance in Athens due to David’s unknown reason for collapsing.
David might be suffering from ‘gastroenteritis’ (stomach flu). According to Rolling Stone. The band members just released this statement
about David’s condition and DM tour:
“Dave is currently undergoing further tests.” “Depeche Mode apologizes to all their fans for this inconvenience and wish Dave a speedy recovery.”
Depeche Mode also just cancelled another show in Istanbul! Looks like they are holding off on a whole list of venues now…
The nixed shows affect:
Bucharest, Romania; Sofia, Bulgaria; Belgrade, Serbia; and Zagreb, Croatia and the tour is shut down until at least May 21st. Ticket holders for all the shows are advised to hold on to their tickets as announcements regarding rescheduled dates or cancellations will be made shortly.
Depeche Mode has been currently promoting their new album, Sounds of the Universe, with shows original scheduled through February 2010.
My hometown hero and local celebrity, Henry Lee Summer a.k.a. Henry Swartz, was arrested last night after partying near the Speedway race track in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Henry was pulled over and arrested for not using a turn signal and then throwing a ’substance’ out his window. The substance happened to be a bag meth. Henry is known for his super hit song in 1986 named “I Wish I Had a Girl (Who Walked Like That)”. When I was in a band in Indiana about 5 years ago, Henry had the ‘Henry Lee Summer Band’. We played at some of the same venues and I also associated with his band members. The band members enjoyed the recognition and success of being in his band, but they did NOT enjoy his extreme behavior. A few years ago in 2006, Henry was accused of driving while intoxicated, slamming into several parked cars and fighting with police. Now he’s got an initial court hearing on May 12.
Police reports stated this:
“Indianapolis police said they began pursuing Swartz’s car about midnight Tuesday after officers said he turned onto a road on Indianapolis’ west side without using his turn signal.
Virgin records, also known as EMI Records, put a lawsuit on Jared Leto’s band 30 Seconds to Mars for $30 Million!
Why?! Apparently, one rumor was that the band did not put out enough records as fast as Virgin wanted them produced. The other rumor which is the TRUTH, is that the band signed a 9 year contract with Virgin, which happens to be illegal because California law states you can only sign a contract for 7 years, not 9 years. These long contracts are normal with the majority of hot artists’ record deals. Well, in the last year, the band was trying to terminate their contract with Virgin for a few legit reasons. First, 9 years should have been 7 years. Second, The band has not received a single penny for selling 2 million records. Third, the band is somehow in $1.4 Million of debt for unknown reasons, which is owed to Virgin. The band is wondering if their next record will rake in enough money to pay off their unknown million dollars of debt?? Will Virgin take the money again?
This battle between 30 Secs to Mars and Virgin has been boiling for the last year. Within this time, the band has been working on a new record even featuring artist Kanye West. The band is really excited and said they have been “putting our hearts, hopes, and dreams into making a record that means absolutely everything to us.”
With all that the band has been through with Virgin Records along the way to their success, fame and notoriety, the band and Virgin Recs decided to call a truce rather than proceeding with the $30 Million lawsuit. They dished out their differences and 30 Seconds to Mars decided that they will renegotiate their contract with Virgin and resign.

Numerous stories have come out about Billy Bob Thornton’s CBC radio/tv appearance. Listeners, writers and even the station said that Billy Bob was acting like Joaquin Phoenix did when he appeared on the David Letterman show. If you aren’t up on this Billy Bob Thornton story, this is what briefly happened on the CBC interview:
Billy Bob and his band “Boxmasters” were interviewed Wednesday for radio and TV on the CBC by host Jian Ghomeshi.
Thornton criticized Ghomeshi for making a casual reference to his acting career, telling Ghomeshi, “You were instructed not to talk about that.”
Ghomeshi replied: “I wasn’t instructed … you guys are here as a band, I wasn’t instructed. … That’s just giving context, right? … I’m happy to interview you guys as a band but the listeners were given context of who you are. That’s part of your trajectory, isn’t it?”
To which Thornton countered, “Not really.”
Our inside source who is a friend of Billy Bob’s and works with Billy Bob told us the real and true reason why BBT’s interview went ‘bad.’
Our source said, “I was talking to him [Billy Bob] on the phone today and he told me about the radio [CBC] show. He [Billy Bob] simply told the CBC Producers before the show that he did not want to discuss his “acting/film career” during the interview. The interview was set to only talk about the Boxmasters [BBT's band], not BBT’s acting career. It was rude that Jian Ghomeshi went ahead and asked Billy questions that he [Billy] did not want talk about. It’s obvious that this is the case if you listen to the interview. That is why Billy reacted the way he did. The Boxmasters want to be known for their music and as a band-not ‘Billy Bob Thornton and the band.’” And about the Joaquin reference ? “He’s [BBT] nothing like Joaquin [Phoenix] haha, media is funny-you have nothing to worry about.”
Apparently we have a Joaquin Phoenix part II on our hands. Associated Press NY reports that Jian Ghomeshi interviewed BBT on his morning CBC radio show today and attempted to ask him about his band the Boxmasters. While asking about his band, Ghomeshi mentioned also that BBT was an accomplished actor, which didn’t settle well with BBT so he went into his own rendition of Joaquin Phoenix when he was on the Letterman Show not too long ago. Apparently, Billy Bob would rather talk about his music and not his acting career at this time. “When the host, Jian Ghomeshi, asked Thornton when the band formed, Thornton said “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”"

Finally, David Cook is shooting a vid for his new song“Come Back To Me” at LAX airport in Los Angeles on Thursday (March 5).
The vid is being directed by Gavin Bowden, who has worked with Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jason Mraz and Lifehouse.–DAMN
“Come Back To Me” hits radio next month and is the follow up single to “Light On” off Cook’s self-titled album. Sarah Roemer is the lucky girl to be in the vid.
Roemer starred as the love interest of Shia LaBeouf’s character in 2007’s thriller, Disturbia.
I like Cook…here is to hoping he dishes out some good music before buying a multi million dollar house.

One of our all time favorite bands, Stone Temple Pilots, put on their last show in Vegas. We were there to experience it up front and in the middle.
No messing around for Scott Weiland. No half ass or careless performing. ONLY the BEST this time around. About a month ago, we gave a bad review of Scott’s solo performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live. We thought, “Oh no, not the drugs again!” We were worried that our man Scott was falling to pieces again. We wondered why his former band Velvet Revolver was done playing. Then we heard he was getting back with his original band STP; but turned out wishy washy. Mr. Weiland’s Jimmy Kimmel solo performance debuting his solo record, “Happy in Galoshes”, was an out-of-tune nightmare. At this point, we were thinking about getting back on the drugs! J/K!
