VIA 12news: An Iraqi student pilot is dead, officials with the Arizona Air National Guard said, after an F-16 crashed about near Safford Tuesday.
With an order of 36 aircraft, U.S. and Iraqi Airmen made history Dec. 16, 2014, after delivering the Iraqi air force F-16D aircraft to Tucson. The sale included an agreement for the U.S. to train the Iraqi pilots in Arizona.
According to officials, the pilot was conducting an F-16 training mission with the Arizona Air National Guard’s 162nd Wing in Tucson when the plane went down around 3 p.m. about 20 miles northwest of Safford. Continue reading
Former Arizona TV personalities, Krystin Rae Lisaius and husband Somchai Lisaius, were sentenced over cocaine being found in their baby’s system on May 15th, 2016.
The ex-Tucson TV station reporters, were sentenced to a year of probation and suspended 30-day jail terms Monday after pleading guilty to child endangerment Aug. 31.
Police say the baby was taken to a hospital May 15 after being breastfed and appearing to be in distress. Tests found cocaine in the 4-month-old baby’s body, and police learned the couple had a party the night before. Continue reading
Police are on scene at LAX, Los Angeles International Airport, over reports of an active shooter in one of the terminals.
People were seen fleeing multiple terminals at the airport.
Panicked people at the airport tweeted that there were shots fired in terminals 7 and 8, but nothing had been confirmed, according to authorities.
The airport shut down the upper and lower levels for arrivals and departures of the central terminal area as part of the investigation. h/t abc7

Donald Trump along with members of his team got stuck in an elevator while visiting Colorado. The incident caused him to be hours late to his scheduled rally.
The Republican nominee was trapped in the lift for 30 minutes ahead his Friday Colorado Springs appearance. He was eventually rescued by members of the Colorado Springs fire department, multiple local outlets reported Saturday.
According to news station KRDO, emergency crews responded to an elevator rescue at The Mining Exchange Hotel where a group of 10, including the Republican nominee, was trapped between the first and second floor. Continue reading

Three missionaries from Utah were seriously injured in the Brussels airport terrorist attack, Mormon church officials confirmed today. The group had just cleared an airport security checkpoint and were standing near a United Airlines’ ticket counter when the deadly blast took place.
The attack, which took the lives of at least 34 and injured nearly 200, left visiting missionaries, Richard Norby, 66, Joseph Empey, 20 and Mason Wells, 19, with serious injuries. Thankfully, they are expected to survive.

A 4.3-magnitude earthquake hit 22 miles east, north east of Lucerne Valley on Friday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The quake struck at 10:13 p.m. and had a depth of 1.5 miles. The temblor was first reported as a magnitude-4.4 but was revised soon after.
Eyewitness News viewers in Victorville, Apple Valley, Joshua Tree, Big Bear and Yucaipa reported feeling the quake. Continue reading
