Well, Paula Abdul is gone and now Simon Cowell is going to leave American Idol. Don’t worry though! You’ll get one more full season of Simon on the new American Idol.
Is Simon missing Paula? The show’s angle on Simon and Paula’s love affair was actually one of the most interesting parts about the show! There won’t be any of that this season. Guess fellow AI judge Kara DioGuardi didn’t tickle Simon’s fancy enough to keep him on the show.

Don’t cry just yet! Simon isn’t going anywhere! Simon has created his own new show that he will be airing in 2011! There is actually already a version of his popular show in Britain called the “The X Factor”. Looks like he’ll be importing an American version for FOX and he’ll be judging and producing it!
You just know that Paula will be on the new The X Factor with Simon!
Where were Paula Abdul’s friends when she needed them most? After all, if her fellow judges would have stood up for her, maybe she would still be a part of the American Idol family, but no.
Out of all the judges, Simon Cowell could have stepped up to object to the hardball tactics Abdul received compliments of Idol producers, but no. Even though Abdul and Cowell were once boyfriend and girlfriend, when it came to wielding some of his great clout, Cowell opted to not “get in the middle” as he said recently in an interview with Extra.
Cowell did manage to say something in Abdul’s defense all be it cryptic, stating that “American Idol is different without Paula Abdul.” Cowell alluded that the chemistry was “different” however he added the disclaimer, ”It’s like comparing a carrot to a banana, they are different.”
Let’s face it, show business is very cutthroat, so when it came time for Randy Jackson, Ryan Seacrest and Simon Cowell to band together to throw Abdul a lifeline, collectively they did nothing. With friends like that, who needs enemies?
All this time I was wondering what I would buy my brother for his birthday. He was born on November 17 and always expects a great present. Well, the gods are working in my favor because Amazon is now reporting Kris Allen’s still-untitled album will drop on November 17. Hooray, birthday present predicament solved! Does my brother like Kris Allen? Not at all, because the sheer convenience of this release date is just perfect for me.
I know, I know, I’m a horrible brother.
For any real fans of Allen, this is good news. He’ll be releasing his album during a busy music season but we’ll finally be able to see if he can really deliver a hit record. Your thoughts/predictions?

Country artist Shania Twain is going to celebrity guest judge on American Idol! She will sit alongside Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi at the judge’s table for two days of auditions in Chicago this week.
Other guest celebrities that we are looking forward to seeing on the next AI season are Katy Perry, Victoria Beckham, and Mary J. Blige.
The American Idol boys sound like they are making the absolute most out of their tour. Winner Kris Allen and runner-up Adam Lambert not only share the stage, they also share music and lyrics.
Kris Allen is trying to juggle a busy tour, and a completion of his first album before this Fall season. Kris admits it’s kind of hard making his very first album, but not to worry, his seasoned AI tour partner Adam Lambert has come to the rescue and is helping Kris!
“Adam will get a song, and he’ll be like, ‘Listen to this,’ and I’ll tell him what I think about it, whether I like it or not. And we were actually doing that last night. … He was listening to some things of mine,” Allen told MTV News. “He had some good things to say, some critiques to say as well. We do that to each other. … We’re just trying to help each other out.”
Time is a virtue for Allen…writing an album on tour is hard. Especially when it’s your ‘first’ album ever…
We might not get Paula Abdul but we’ll definitely get a whole lot of Simon Cowell.
Robert Sillerman, CEO of 19 Entertainment parent company CKX, let it slip yesterday that Fox is expecting Simon back for not one, not two but three more seasons of the hit reality competition.
“We’ve heard from Fox, who has asked us for approval for Simon Cowell to appear for three more years on ‘Idol,’” Sillerman said, later adding that nothing should stand in the way of Cowell’s return. Word is that Simon will pull in $45 million for the new deal. Not too shabby.
There was no word on any other new guest judges scheduled to replace Abdul.
Incase you missed ABC network show “Good Morning America” on Friday as I did (sorry Kris!), here are American Idol stars Adam Lambert, Kris Allen and David Cook together! They each sang an individual song, and then teamed up to sing Fleetwood Mac’s “Little Lies”. Kris sang Kanye West’s “Heartless”. Adam sang Muse’s “Starlight”. Kelly Clarkson’s new “Self” Magazine cover is a ‘bit skeptical’ says some. People think that she didn’t really work off her weight, they think the airbrush tool in Photoshop did. Yahoo news did a little bit of detective work to find out if this picture has been doctored into a thinner version of Kelly.
Self Mag told Yahoo that they ’did airbrush the singer, but no more than they do every other cover model’. The editor-in-chief argued, “Our picture shows her confidence and beauty.”
Poor Kelly, she gets trashed about her weight non-stop! Does it hurt her feelings? Apparently not! Self Mag asked her how she feels about being targeted about weight issues. Kelly surprisingly said, “When people talk about my weight, I’m like, ‘You seem to have a problem with it; I don’t…I’m fine! I’ve never felt uncomfortable on the red carpet or anything.”
