It’s no surprise Jared Leto hand a big hand in on editing the new 30 Seconds to Mars Video “Closer to the Edge,” his fingerprint is all over every frame. Shot while on a Mega-World tour, Leto makes sure to portray his band as “more popular than Jesus,” borrowing a quote (and misstep) from the late, great John Lennon.
Jared Leto, 40, is an actor turned bionafied rock star and now you can add “filmmaker” to that list. Don’t get me wrong, “CTTE” is a great song, however the approach to this epic journeyman music montage, while being visually impeccable is familiarly formula.
Being single is totally awesome, especially if you’re former Vice President Al Gore. After his 40 year marriage came to an end, Gore, 62, is enjoying a resurgence of music in his life that had been forbidden by his Ex, Tipper for more that two decades.
“For the first time in decades, I get to play the kind of music I like without someone nagging me about what a bad influence it is,” said Gore, “And I get to crank it up as loud as I want.” What Gore is cranking up is heavy metal music from the likes of Quiet Riot, Mötley Crüe and W.A.S.P.
When the Kings of Leon hit the stage in St. Louis, Missouri I’m sure getting attacked by pigions was the farthest thing from their minds, however, as soon as hundreds of the dirty birds started craping on them, the band had enough and left the stage after three song.
The Verizon Amphitheater apparently has a problem with pigeon infestation, so much so, the Kings could not continue to play.
The band reportedly observed something falling from the sky, that was pigeon crap, and when the birds started scoring direct hits on the band’s faces, the lads called it quits.
It may be a sign of the times as Justin Bieber’s “Baby” easily surpasses Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance” as the most viewed video in Youtubehistory. As I reported, tickets are still available for the Lady Gaga concert tomorrow night, however, you would be hard pressed to find a Bieber ticket for the remainder of the entire tour.
At the time of publishing this article the Youtube numbers look like this:
Justin Bieber “Baby” Views: 246,353,903 (gaining more than 1 MIL hits in the last 24 hours)
The lyrics to Lindsay Lohan’s new song are chilling to say the least, but her performance may be the real killer. Unlike other Lohan tracks from the past, the production and more importantly, the vocals on “Too young to die” are amateur at best. Throughout the entire song Lohan’s voice sounds very weak and the auto-tune is not helping at all, at times tuning to the wrong note. The producer should be shot. What a Train wreck.
I knew I was in trouble for the moment I laid eyes on you (yeah)
Dangerously, I can feel the chemistry around the room (ohh)
Something deep inside told me to think twice, I knew (yeah)
But I went ahead what a stupid thing to do
Now i’m in trouble
Bands are canceling their tours in record numbers because fans just are not willing to buy a seat, but why? The economy you say? Historically, entertainment sectors have flourished during downturns in the economy, people need an escape, however, folks are not escaping to the concert hall, matter of fact, the numbers are dropping at an alarming rate.
Concert promoter Live Nation reported a drop of 12 percent in ticket sales for the top 100 bands in the first half of 2010, an announcement that sent its stock plunging and there is no end in sight, another drop of 15 percent is expected for the second half of the year.
Pink was preforming a concert in Germany and during the finally she was supposed to be hooked up to some wires and fly away, problem was, the wires were not attached properly and Pink went crashing 8 feet to the floor. After a few scary moments Pink got up and told the crowd she had to take a trip to the hospital. Pink later Tweeted that she was fine, just seriously sore.
How lucky was I to go to another great concert at the “Rathskeller” (in Indianapolis, Indiana) again, this past Saturday night, to see Devon Allman and his band Honeytribe (Yes, he is Greg Allman’s son of the Allman Brothers). I was just at the Rathskeller 2 weeks ago and saw Carney, another great band that is a must see (read my review here)!
I was very lucky to be able to go to the concert at the “Rathskeller” in Indianapolis on Thursday, July 1. One of my favorite bands named “Carney” was passing thru Indy on their way to Grant Park in Chicago! I usually tell everyone they are a little cross between The Beatles, Led Zeppelin and Kenny Wayne Shepherd.
I almost missed them since Interscope Records who they are signed with, mistakenly forgot to put it on their website! Yes, there are fans in Indy that care about seeing the band!
The Lilith Fair tour was built on female talent and female audience support but the cancelation of at least 10 dates demonstrates it’s really all about the money.
Even though thousands of eager fans purchased tickets to attend shows in their state, many fans will be sorely disappointed to learn they will have to make other plans.
