Levi Johnston and his lovely date
Listen, I’m no fan of Sarah Palin. At the same time, it really seems like Levi Johnston, her almost son-in-law, seems to be milking his relationship with her.
Levi, who was Kathy Griffin’s date to the Teen Choice Awards (which I still find weeeeeeeird), talked to RadarOnline.com about Palin’s recent exit from the governorship of Alaska. He thinks she did because of marital problems.
When asked if Sarah and Todd Palin have issues within their marriage, Levi answered “Oh yeah. There have been from day one.” He then said he thought that was her reason for stepping down. He also added that he thinks she’s going to try and make as much money on the speaking circuit as she can. Anything else we need to know about their union, Levi? Well, he doesn’t think anyone actually cheated. Phew. Now I can sleep at night.
I don’t know what Levi will reveal next and I really don’t know if I can believe it but it’s entertaining nonetheless. I hope that the kid gets his own TLC show or something.

The happy (odd) couple
Weeeeeeeeeeeeeird.
Comedian Kathy Griffin brought a date to Sunday’s Teen Choice Award and it was none other than Sarah Palin’s almost son-in-law and Bristol Palin’s one-time fiance, Levi Johnston. And that’s not the weird part. The weird part is that they looked happy.
Griffin and Johnston walked the carpet together and held hands. The young Alaskan even kissed the cheek of Griffin several times and told the press how much of a fan he was of her. This is a publicity stunt right? There’s no way these two could possibly date, right? Right?! What’s going on?!
Whatever the purpose behind the pairing, I think it’s awesome. I hope they fall in love, get married and are invited to the Palin family reunion. That would prove to be incredibly awkward and hilarious.

Former Republican Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin is stepping down as governor of Alaska, RadarOnline.com has learned.
Palin announced today that she intends to resign as Alaska’s chief executive by the end of the month and will not seek a second gubernatorial term in 2010.
Palin, who was elected governor in 2006, was recruited by Arizona Senator John McCain to be his running mate in the 2008 Presidential Election.
The Republican governor said she plans to transfer authority to Lt Gov. Sean Parnell, who will be sworn in on July 25.
“She thinks she has accomplished goals she has set forward,” a source told CNN. “She sees what a positive influence she has had on people’s lives from traveling the country in the last year.”

Whoa. This joke that David Letterman said about Sarah Palin has really gotten ridiculous! The joke Letterman made about Alaska Governor Sarah Palin and her daughter was this: “Sarah Palin’s daughter got “knocked up” by New York Yankee third baseman Alex Rodriguez during their recent trip to New York.” Read the whole story here.
An enraged Sarah Palin, then told the “Today” show that she thinks Letterman owes ‘Women across America’ an apology.
Because David is SUPER COOL, he has now decided to apologize to Sarah Palin on the “Late Show” airing tonight Monday. He didn’t have to, but he did for people that can’t take a joke! David is reported (by our writer Brandon) to have said this:
[Sorry] “to the two daughters involved, Bristol and Willow, and also to the governor and her family and everybody else who was outraged by the joke.” Letterman will also say that he confused the two Palin daughters and should have stuck with making fun of Rudy Guiliani instead.

Sarah vs. Letterman
David Letterman made a joke earlier this week that ‘Sarah Palin’s daughter got “knocked up” by New York Yankee third baseman Alex Rodriguez during their recent trip to New York.’
Sarah Palin, the Alaska governor, appeared on NBC’s “Today” show Friday, continuing a feud with David. She told the “Today” show that ‘David Letterman owes an apology to young women across the country for his joke about her daughter.’
Sarah told host Matt Lauer, “I would like to see him apologize to young women across the country for contributing to kind of that thread that is throughout our culture that makes it sound like it is OK to talk about young girls in that way, where it’s kind of OK, accepted and funny to talk about statutory rape,” she said. “It’s not cool. It’s not funny.”
Palin said that it was ‘time for people to rise up against Letterman’s form of humor.’ She thinks that these kind of jokes give girls ‘low self esteem.’
Sarah said, “No wonder young girls especially have such low self-esteem in America when we think it’s funny for a so-called comedian to get away with such a remark as he did,” she said. “I don’t think that’s acceptable.”

WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (AP) €¢ A Halloween decoration showing a mannequin dressed as vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin hanging by a noose from the roof of a West Hollywood home is drawing giggles from some passers-by and gasps of outrage from others.
The mannequin is dressed in brunet wig, glasses and a red business suit. Another mannequin dressed as John McCain emerges from a flaming chimney.
Chad Michael Morisette, who lives in the house, told CBS 2 News that drivers and bus passengers have been stopping to snap pictures of the macabre scene.
Morisette says the effigy would be out of bounds at any other time of year, but it’s within the spirit of Halloween.
He says “it should be seen as art, and as within the month of October. It’s Halloween, it’s time to be scary it’s time to be spooky.”

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin had tears in her eyes as John McCain gave his concession speech Tuesday night in Arizona.
He called his running mate (and self-described “hockey mom”) “one of the best campaigners I have ever seen and an impressive new voice in our party for reform and the principles that have always been our greatest strength.”
That line received the loudest applause of the night.

Palin is expected to arrive in Alaska sometime today in a campaign plane.
After McCain’s loss, she phoned supporters attending an event at the Wasilla Multi-Use Sports Complex.
“Wasilla, are you there?” she asked.
The crowd cheered as a cell phone was set up next to a microphone.
“There are just no words for my appreciation for all the hard work you did,” Palin said. “Obviously it was not our time, it was not our moment.”
“We’re going to be just fine,” she went on. “It is a shining moment tonight in history. We do congratulate Barack Obama. It’s a great night in history. But I’ll tell ya, Wasilla – and everybody there in Alaska – I am just proud to be able to represent Wasilla.
