DeLay DeDancing
We still have a week until the premiere of Dancing with The Stars but already a cast member has been injured. That’s right, disgraced House Majority Leader Tom DeLay has hurt his foot while rehearsing with dance partner Cheryl Burke.
From DeLay’s twitter: “Old age is catching up to me. May have a stress fracture in my foot. No worries, it’ll take more than that to keep me off the dance floor.”
And right DeLay was as later in the day he updated his tweet saying that he didn’t have a stress fracture and that he’d “live for another day.” Sorry Democrats.
We’re not sure how hurt DeLay is and how this will affect his performance but it looks like he’ll be around. The show premieres on September 21 so there is still plenty of time for someone to slip on a banana peel or have a piano dropped on them. Surely, this will be the first of many celebrity injuries.

Ms. Gosselin and the new look
What do you all think of Kate Gosselin’s new haircut? She debuted it today while guest-hosting The View and doesn’t she seemed pleased as punch about it. I know that many, many, many, many (many, many, many) people are happy to see her old look go. I think she looks happy and bright here but maybe a little too Elisabeth Hasselbeck for her own good. Careful, Kate, the last thing you want is to mimic her.

Okay, I promise that this will be my last story regarding Kanye West. In case you didn’t hear, the man had a heart-to-heart with Jay Leno last night regarding his outburst at the VMAs on Sunday night. I think Kanye was sincere in his Leno appearance and, with a little break, can put this behind him.
But, before we put this story to rest, let’s see what President Obama has to say about it. In an off the record portion of an interview with CNBC (where he was talking about important issues like, oh, I don’t know, health care reform!) Obama said that Kanye acted like a “jackass”.
The remarks were caught by ABC newsman Terry Moran. His tweet was as followed: “Pres. Obama just called Kanye West a ‘jackass’ for his outburst at VMAs when Taylor Swift won. Now THAT’S presidential.” Since the comments were off the record and not for public viewing, Moran later took the tweet down. But it was too late. Now everyone knows Obama’s opinion.

Eric Dane
News broke late yesterday that Grey’s Anatomy star Eric Dane was in a leaked sex tape with his wife, actress Rebecca Gayheart, and model Kari Ann Peniche. The full video will be released later today. However, from what we’ve seen, the term “sex tape” seems a bit inappropriate. More appropriate would have been the term “boring video of three friends wandering around stoned and naked”. But I guess that doesn’t have the same enticing charm, does it?
The video (well, the parts I’ve seen anyway) has the Grey’s star, his wife and Ms. Peniche in a few forms of undress. They discuss their would-be porn names, flop into a hot tub and roll around on a bed. And they’re all obviously stoned. Fun times. While there is nudity, there appears to be no actual sex. Perhaps the real juicy parts will be released today but I have a sneaking suspicion there are none. That’s good news for the parties involved, who are already trying to get the video offline. Tom DeLay, dancing sensation
Former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay has been confirmed as one of the new cast members of Dancing with the Stars. DeLay was the House Majority Leader from 2003 to 2005. He resigned in 2006 for allegedly breaking campaign-finance laws. Throughout his career, the Republican was referred to as “The Hammer” because of his ability to…well, I guess hammer bills into laws? Whatever the reason, he was loathed by the opposition party.
I don’t get it. I guess DeLay is a celebrity (and alleged felon) but he doesn’t seem the dancing type. Also, he doesn’t even seem like the type to watch Dancing with the Stars. I guess ABC knows something I don’t. Maybe Tom can really cut a rug.
DeLay will be joined by Macy Gray, Kelly Osbourne, Donny Osmond and others. The show starts September 21.

In 1999 “Who Wants to be a Millionaire” staring Regis Philbin was a TV sensation drawing in more than 22 million viewers in a single night, taking ABC from worst to first in the ratings.
Now Philbin has done it again, this time with a 2-week run of “Millionair” honoring the show’s 10th anniversary.
This time around Philbin helped pull in 7 million viewers on the first night, a lot less than 10 years ago however, a big number these days and more than twice the numbers ABC had with out “Millionaire” in the same time slot.

Mrs. Hasselbeck
Another Hasselbeck walks the earth! Or crawls anyway. Conservative darling Elisabeth Hasselbeck and husband Tim welcomed their third child Sunday afternoon, little Isaiah Timothy. He joins Grace Elisabeth and Taylor Thomas, the couple’s other two children.
Isaiah weighed in at seven pounds, seven ounces. Not bad for the son of a former football player. The couple released a statement saying “Elisabeth and Isaiah are doing great.”
No word yet on when Elisabeth will return to The View. Also no word on when the couple expects their inevitable fourth child. But we all know it’s coming.

Are you kidding me?
You would think when the President of the United States calls for a news conference to discuss issues such as universal health care, the networks would carry it, no questions asked. Think again…
FOX has refused to carry Wednesday’s broadcast! ABC and CBS have agreed but only after the White House agreed to move it from 9 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The reason the networks are being so difficult? Reality TV! You heard me right, and instead of seeing the President talk about health care at 9 p.m. on ABC, you will see the regularly scheduled reality TV program “America’s Got Talent,” featuring singer, Susan Boyle from “Britain’s Got Talent.”
For CBS, who agreed right away to air the President, broadcasts only repeats on that night, however, FOX’s 2 hour “So You Think You Can Dance” broadcast wins out over the President of the United States.
First scripted TV and now the President… Is no one safe from the reality TV?

Where has the world gone to when a company like ABC “Family” hires Lindsay Lohan to star in a film about a smoking, pregnant girl, who is not pregnant, but only saying she is pregnant to keep her job? Hell in a hand basket.
Sunday is the premier of “Labor Pains” a movie that was slated to debut in theaters, but that was when Warner Bros. was involved. Warner dropped out and Disney dropped in, saving the film and at least giving it a chance to see the light of day, all be it that light is on the ABC Family channel.
Shockingly produced by heavy-hitter Rick Schwartz, (“The Aviator” and “The Departed,”) the film is low budget to say the least, which may be the method to the madness as Lohan most likely worked for peanuts, Schwartz reportedly admitting the entire movie only cost an estimated $1 million to make. At the cost of most high-end music videos, Schwartz may have some wiggle room to make a profit.
