NEW ORLEANS, LA. (THECOUNT) — Schuylkill County’s most prominent businessman, Patrick Murphy, owner of Pottsville, PA, Murphy Jewelers, was found murdered Thursday morning in a New Orleans hotel room.

Police think it’s a case of homicide and are searching for 25-year-old Megan Hall, in connection to the grisly fatal stabbing.

NOPD says, Murphy, 62, was found stabbed to death at the The Empress Hotel early Thursday morning.

His wife, Kim, was located unharmed in a first-floor room of hotel, located in the 1300 block of Ursulines Avenue shortly before noon.

Police have issued a BOLO for Hall who was last seen on surveillance video entering the hotel with Murphy. She was seen departing the area alone.

Police have not said if Hall and Murphy were acquainted.

According to officials, an arrest warrant has been issued for Hall on charges of second-degree murder, according to 6ABC.

So far, there’s no word on a motive in the deadly stabbing.
