MARION, NC. (THECOUNT) — McDowell County sheriff’s deputies have charged Caitlin Danielle Reel, address listed as Cane Creek Road in Marion, and Christopher Joel Twitty, address listed as Chisiam Trail in Marion, each with robbery with a dangerous weapon.

“CC” Reel, 25, and “Chris” Twitty, 30, were apprehended Friday night, Feb. 15 after a day-long manhunt for the female suspect that robbed West Court Food Center #2, on U.S. 221 South, at gunpoint at approximately 9:30 a.m. Friday.

The woman approached the counter with her face partially covered with a bandana, brandished a handgun and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash, say officials.

Investigators received a tip Friday from a caller who had seen a car parked near the store just before the robbery. That tip led to Reel, who was the robber, and Twitty, who was driving the vehicle, report Nixle.

McDowell County Sheriff Ricky Buchanan praised investigators for their hard work in tracking down the suspects in such a timely manner and expressed appreciation for the other agencies that assisted the Sheriff’s Office in the case.
