PONTIAC, MI. (THECOUNT) — Kahlil Ellison has been identified as the suspect arrested after a horrible domestic assault in Metro Detroit early Saturday morning.

Ellison, 22, was arrested after being accused of kicking his pregnant girlfriend’s stomach repeatedly following a 3:30 a.m. argument, killing their unborn child, according to officials.

The suspect then fled the scene of the Leonard Lane, Arborview Village Apartments assault, but was quickly taken in custody by Pontiac Sheriff’s Department deputies.

The 19-year-old victim, who was six months pregnant, informed police that she was experiencing severe pain after being kicked in the midsection – several times — at the conclusion of an argument at the couple’s residence.

The victim, who was not identified, was transported to an area hospital where doctors were unsuccessful in their efforts to save the child.

“I just heard a lady screaming,” said neighbor Jawana Milton. “I jumped out of my bed and looked out the window, the lady was still screaming and then the Police pulled up,” reports Fox5Atlanta.

The neighbor said the victim, who is still in a lot of pain, has since moved out and is now living with her mother.

Ellison was booked on a $1 million bond. If convicted, he is facing up to life in prison.

This is a developing story.
