LANCASTER, OH. (THECOUNT) — Shawn C. Peterson, of Lancaster, Ohio, has been identified as the missing man found dead near a creek by the Sixth Avenue bridge, in Lancaster on Tuesday.

The body of Peterson, 49, was reportedly discovered by a passerby who called city police at 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday.

Peterson lived a half mile from the scene, located at near the east bank of Fetters Run and Sheridan Drive.

The following day, there still had been no activity on his bank account and he hadn’t reported to work, according to the missing person report. source

A cause of death was not provided by investigators.

Fairfield County coroner said along with police detectives that there is currently nothing suspicious in the death.
