MUSCATINE, IA. (THECOUNT) — Darian Lensgraf has been named as the suspect arrested over the Wednesday stabbing death of his grandmother, Diana Lensgraf, according to the Muscatine County Attorney’s Office.

Lensgraf, 19, is facing first-degree murder charges for stabbing his grandmother to death on the morning of December 12, Diana’s 66th birthday.

Police responded to a call of a stabbing on the 2100 block of Breese Avenue around 3:30 a.m. Upon arrival, officials discovered a woman suffering from multiple stab wounds.

Later, a 911 caller reported a male subject had entered a gas station convenience store while holding a bloody knife. Muscatine Police responded to the Kum & Go Gas Station, located at 709 Grandview Avenue, and took Lensgraf in custody without further incident.

He was charged with first degree murder and is being held in the Muscatine County Jail on $5 million bond.
