BOTETOURT COUNTY, VA. (THECOUNT) — Juanita Ann Neff and Charlene Dawn Hodson, both of Strasburg, VA, have been identified as the victims in a single-vehicle crash Friday afternoon on Interstate 81 in Botetourt County.

Neff, 65, and Hodson, 46, were passengers in a 2007 Honda Civic traveling north on I-81 when they were ejected from the vehicle during a crash, according to state police.

Mary Neff Elliott, 80, of Strasburg, was the driver of the vehicle.

The vehicle, for unknown reasons, exited the roadway, ran off the right side of the roadway and struck an embankment. The crash caused the vehicle to overturn multiple times, police said.

Juanita Ann Neff and Hodson were not wearing seat belts, a crash report noted. Both were pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries consistent with the crash.

Mary Neff Elliott, 80, of Strasburg, the driver, was flown by helicopter to Roanoke Memorial Hospital for injuries received in the crash, police said. Two other passengers, Donald Lee Neff, 70, and a 13-year-old boy, were transported to Roanoke Memorial for non-life-threatening injuries, police said. source
