DALLAS, NC. (THECOUNT) — Gary Welch, of Dallas, NC, has been identified as the victim killed in a two-vehicle collision on Saturday in Bessemer City, NC, according to the Highway Patrol.

Welch, 26, was traveling eastbound on Cherryville Highway around 5:30 p.m. Saturday when the fatal crash occurred.

The victim collided with another vehicle while attempting to make a left turn onto Costner School Road in Bessemer City, according to the Highway Patrol.

Welch was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries consistent with the crash. at the scene.

Two people from the other vehicle were taken by ambulance to CaroMont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia with minor injuries. source
