DAVENPORT, IA. (THECOUNT) — Robert Mitchell, of Davenport, IA, has been identified as the man who died in the hospital as a result of a police-involved Tuesday .

Mitchell, 27, was shot by a Scott County deputy. The deputy involved in this incident is Greg Hill, a 10-year veteran of the department.

Mitchell was transported to an area hospital where he was listed in critical condition with a gunshot wound. He was since pronounced dead.

A Scott County deputy attempted a traffic stop at the 6500 block of Brady Street. A struggle ensued, and shots were fired by the deputy. The car fled the scene, finally stopping near the intersection of Division Street and Kimberly Road. source

The incident is being investigated by the Davenport Police Department and Division of Criminal Investigations.
