ST JOHN, MO. (THECOUNT — Sarah Dashley has been identified as the Missouri woman killed in a duplex fire Sunday in St John. The blaze appears to be accidental and was ignited by an overloaded electrical outlet, according to officials.
Dashley, 30, was named as the victim in a McNulty Drive duplex fire Sunday morning. She was extracted from the dwelling and rushed to an area hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

First responders and police arrived to find the home fully engulfed, said St. John Police Chief John Morris. Dashley’s boyfriend, Zachary Dingman, had already left for work when the blaze erupted.
“It appears to be an electrical fire,” Morris said. “Just numerous plugs, all plugged into an outlet that were running an air conditioner, computer, a guitar amplifier. And the futon she was sleeping on was above the outlet.” source
Dashley’s boss, Mike Scott of Sugarfire Smokehouse in Olivette, said the company is raising money to help with funeral expenses. By Thursday morning, they had raised more than $9,200.
Scott said Dashley worked for the restaurant for going on two years.
An investigation is ongoing.
