THE DALLES, OR. (THECOUNT) — The Wasco County Sheriff’s Office identified John Ruby as the man killed in the Substation Fire Wednesday
Ruby, 64, was a longtime Wasco County resident farmer.

The wildfire southeast of The Dalles is being investigated as suspected arson, according to Doug Grafe, the Fire Protection Division Chief with the Oregon Department of Forestry. source
The fire has burned more than 50,000 acres and forced several communities to evacuate.
