WI Firefighter “Barr House” Owner Cory Barr Killed In Sun Prairie Gas Explosion

SUN PRAIRIE, WI. (THECOUNT) — Firefighter and The Barr House tavern owner, Cory Barr, has been identified by a union leader as the Wisconsin man killed in a Sun Prairie gas explosion.

Barr was present when a contractor punctured a natural gas line in downtown Sun Prairie on Tuesday evening, leading to an explosion and ensuing fire that damaged at least five buildings, including the Barr House, which Barr owned.

Mahlon Mitchell, president of the Professional Fire Fighters of Wisconsin, on Wednesday identified Cory Barr as the firefighter who was killed. source

Sun Prairie is a suburb of the state capital of Madison.
