MOUNT CLEMENS, MI. (THECOUNT) — Perry Bernard Rouse Jr., the man sought by police in connection to the Mount Clemens homicide of Clinton Township man, Charlie McGowan, was taken into custody Saturday by United States marshals at a motel outside of Chicago.

According to authorities, Rouse was located at a Motel 6 in Harvey, Illinois and was taken into custody without incident. He is expected to be housed at the Chicago Police Department until his extradition to Macomb County.

(ORIGINAL STORY) — The victim of a fatal shooting reported early Thursday morning in Mount Clemens has been identified as Clinton Township man, Charlie McGowan.

McGowan, 24, was found suffering from gunshot wounds along with an unidentified female near the Mt Clemens Wastewater Treatment plant.

The Macomb County Sheriff’s office said deputies were dispatched to the area of Court and Clemens Street for reports of shots fired. When police arrived they encountered a large group of people. Police learned from witnesses that the victims had been shot and already transported to an area hospital. source

McGowan was later pronounced dead at the hospital from injuries suffered in the shooting.

The second victim, a 26-year-old female from Clinton Township, is said to recovering in an area hospital recovering from injuries suffered in the incident. The extent of her injuries were not provided.
