Wichita police say a 44-year-old Milo Bell was killed Sunday night when an ATV he was operating struck a tree branch and flipped over in northeast Wichita.

Officers say, Bell, 44, was with a group of other riders when the accident occurred.

The crash happened at around 9:30 p.m. on a bike path near 17th Street and Interstate 135. Officer Charley Davidson said Milo Bell was with a group of friends about 15 minutes before the crash and was heading home. Sgt. Dan Harty said at the scene Sunday night that a bicyclist spotted the ATV in a tree row, with the 44-year-old Bell trapped underneath it. Emergency crews tried to save him, but Bell was pronounced dead at the scene. source


Logan C. Foster has been named as the man found dead in a parking lot near the Press Box Tavern Saturday, say Fond du Lac Police.

The 30-year-old Fond du Lac resident was found dead in the lot of 260 Forest Ave. Investigators believe Foster was a victim of homicide.

Police say Foster had suffered injuries to his body. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police believe Foster’s death happened in the early morning hours of Sept. 23, in the area of 260 Forest Ave., across from the Press Box Tavern. source

Justin Woodland, 17, has been named as the suspect who died in a Hub City failed home invasion Sunday night. Woodland was apparently killed after being shot by the homeowner, according to Hattiesburg police.

According to HPD, one person, believed to be the homeowner, was taken into custody and later released. No charges have been filed.

Anton Smith, a second suspect, was charged with armed robbery and burglary of a dwelling. The shooting happened just after 9:30 p.m. at a home near the intersection of Orange and Xavier Street in Hattiesburg. “We are investigating a possible home invasion where it appears the suspect was shot by a homeowner at the residence,” said Hattiesburg Police Capt. Branden McLemore. According to authorities, no charges are being filed against the homeowner, and the case will be presented to the grand jury. source

Forrest County Deputy Coroner Lisa Klem said Woodland’s body will be sent to Jackson for an autopsy.
