Wow! Talk about a lack of subtlety! President Donald Trump took to twitter tonight to tell everyone to watch Judge Jeanine on Fox News, which was innocent enough, that is until watching her Opening Statement segment, where she called for Paul Ryan to step down! Second party hint hint Speaker Ryan?
The Fox News show that President Trump urged his Twitter followers to tune into Saturday evening began with a harsh rebuke against House Speaker Paul Ryan after the Republicans’ Obamacare replacement plan, the American Health Care Act, was pulled from the House floor when it became all but certain it didn’t have the votes to pass, reported washingtonexaminer.com.
President Donald Trump and the Republicans in general may have suffered a major defeat in their efforts to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act, but you wouldn’t know it if you watched the commercials airing during tonight’s basketball broadcasts that erroneously touted Republicans in succeeding to repeal ObamaCare.
Per Deadspin, which has footage of a number of ads running in Republican districts, thanking lawmakers—including California’s David Valadao, Iowa’s David Young, and Texas’ Will Hurd—for “replacing the Affordable Care Act.” Ironically, several of the representatives being thanked—including Virginia Representative Barbara Comstock, whose ad is viewable above, had publicly pulled support for Ryan’s bill earlier today. It’s not entirely clear whether the group funding the ads, the American Action Network, was trying to make some sort of subtle point by keeping the ”Thank yous” sarcastically on the books, or if they were just too surprised by the congressional defeat to pull their pre-paid ad buys in time. h/t avclub

According to reports, about a dozen deputies from the U.S. Marshals Service have been dispatched to Hawaii to provide 24-hour protection for the federal judge who implemented an emergency stop to President Donald Trump‘s travel ban order 2.0.
US District Judge Derrick Watson says he has received numerous death threats since putting the skids on President Trump’s executive order denying people from six majority Muslim nations from entering the US. The
good judge ordered Trump’s ban stopped over what he ruled was really a case of “religious animus.”
“The illogic of the Government’s contentions is palpable,” Watson wrote in his ruling. Watson also went so far as to tell the federal lawyers who protested his ruling that “there is nothing unclear” about his remarks on Sunday. FBI spokesperson Michele Ernst told BuzzFeed News the agency was prepared to assist in the investigation. Continue reading
A Wisconsin police officer called back a man pretending to be an IRS agent after the scammer left a threatening voicemail. In a now viral Facebook video of the exchange, officer Kyle Roder calls the number and asks, “Hello, is this the IRS? It said to call this number, you said I had committed a fraud or something?”
At one point, Roder asks the fake IRS investigator, (who seems unaware he’s the one getting scammed,) for his name and badge number, which the scammer replies, “James Maxwell.” When Roder asks a second time so he could write the name down, the man replied, “James Johnson.” When Roder catches him giving a different name, the man tries to cover up by saying, “my name is James Maxwell Johnson, sir.”
“But you said you’re going to issue a warrant for me and come to my house,” Roder says. “If you don’t have my address, how are you going to do that?” He also asks how much time he has until his arrest, to which the man replies, “Until our shift is over.” The would-be swindler’s attempt to scare Roder into wiring money gets even less convincing when he offers to identify himself with his name and government badge number. According to the incident report, the latest White House fence jumper was apprehended by Secret Service agents after being discovered dangling on the spired fence from her shoelaces.
The unidentified woman, who is listed as 38 years old, stared at The White House for an extended period of time before making the failed attempt to jump the fence Tuesday at 10:50 PM.
The Secret Service agent who was watching her lost sight for a second and the next thing he knew she had caught her shoelaces on an iron spire and dangled helplessly on the inside of the fence.
