Putin is an unabashed, ruthless KGB thug.
That’s the whole problem. To ask who would win in a fist fight
between the thug and President Obama is pointless and counterproductive.
Politics used to end at the water’s edge in times of foreign crises. I’m
appalled by the partisan attacks by Fox ‘News’ and their ilk. Republicans such as McConnell, McCain and Graham publicly proclaim that the President is weak and indecisive as they blame him for Putin’s invasion of Ukraine. Where were they in 2008 when Putin invaded Georgia during George W. Bush’s watch? When Bush met Putin at a summit meeting in 2001 he said “I
looked the man in the eye. I found him to be very straightforward and trustworthy. We had a very good dialogue. I was able to get a sense of his soul; a man deeply committed to his country and the best interests of his country.” I don’t recall hearing a peep from any of those Republican hacks about Bush being indecisive and weak and therefore the cause of the Georgian invasion by
Putin. Putin came in with guns blazing in Georgia. Many Georgian citizens were slaughtered. What did Bush do about it? Nothing. Can the question of who would win in a fist fight! This isn’t about having a fistfight with a KGB thug.
