California Gas Hits $6.00 A Gallon

Calabasas, California, the stomping grounds to lots of celebs, including Kim Kardashian and Britney Spears, will be paying at least $6.00 a gallon for super gas — for the first time ever — after the go-go juice took a historic 19 cent jump at the pump overnight.

One station in Calabasas is charging the highest rate in LA County — nearly $6 for a gallon.

Some stations shut down to ride out the price increases.

AAA is monitoring the price increases — on average nearly 19 cents in just the past 24 hours.

California prices continue to go up.

AAA tells Burden that the higher prices are a result of refinery power outages, a fire in Northern California, and low fuel inventory as stations switch from summer to winter blends.

Some are calling the spike the expected October Surprise.
