Faced with budget cuts, Peter Fahy, Chief Constable of Greater Manchester Police in England, decided to start Tweeting each and every 911 call that comes into his station in an effort to show the department’s workload.

”Policing is often seen in very simple terms, with cops chasing robbers and locking them up,” said Fahy. ”However, the reality is that this accounts for only part of the work they have to deal with.”

The cuts in funding is not something the Chief is going to take sitting down, however, he may have to sit down in order to Tweet every single 911 call, ”I think that it’s time to start measuring performance in a different way.” Said Fahy.
