Facebook Friend Finder

If you have Facebook, then you are probably seeing the new ever present “Facebook Friend Finder” feature on the right side of your Facebook page. The FFF recommends that you add the feature to your Facebook account, so you can find friends on Facebook easier. The feature has 2 little thumbnail icons of your friends’ profile pictures, and it says for instance that “Joe Smith and Peggy Lee found friends using the friend finder, why don’t you give it a try?!”

What’s funny is that some of my Facebook friends discovered that while they were hanging out together, using their own individual computers, and when they were both logged onto Facebook, that the friend finder was saying that they should both join- when neither of them were even signed up with the feature! It was as if Joe Smith joined, and Peggy Lee was prompted to join because Joe Smith did it first! My friends said that it was funny when they discovered that Facebook was recommending each of them to join, and was claiming that each individual was apart of the feature, when neither of them joined in the first place!

Re-enactment:
Peggy sees the message on her Facebook pg: Hey Peggy, you should join FFF because your friend Joe did! Peggy glances over at Joe and says, “Joe, did you join the Facebook Friend Finder?” Joe responds, “No I didn’t join, but I see that you joined.” Peggy then says, “No, I didn’t join either, but it says that you joined too!” Joe finishes, “That’s really peculiar Peggy…real peculiar.”

I just had to put the word out there that Facebook Friend Finder is lying to you. Who says they had to tell the truth!? Trust NO ONE!
