lenolisa Lowball Jay Leno Boycott Picking Up SteamIF it were up to Jay Leno, we would see a 24 hour version of The Jay Leno Show on all channels seven days a week, as it stands, I will have to turn the channel five nights a week at 10 p.m. (instead of 11:30 p.m.) thanks to NBC’s decision to kick scripted television to the curb and air a bloated primetime version of the late night variety show hosted by Jay Leno.

While NBC spots advertising Leno’s new show (and they are endless,) tout Leno as an alternative to “crimetime” there is nothing funny about folks in the entertainment industry, in front and behind the camera, hammering tears over the amount of jobs that have dried up as a direct result of Leno’s new primetime monster.

With actors and studios avoiding Leno like the black lung, he is in serious trouble booking his new show with anyone meaningful and thus has resorted to calling in all favors from the likes of the bulletproof Jerry Seinfeld, who is to be Leno’s first guest.

If Leno goes down he is going down fighting, but even if he wins he will have alienated his core, the very industry he needs to fill the seat to his right. Word on the street whispers that any actor who chooses to go on Jay Leno will be forever shunned.

Lowball Leno has gone as far as to offer advertising prices far below that of what competing scripted TV programs are charging in an overt effort to break their backs.

By convincing NBC to place the variety show at a time slot historically reserved for some of America’s most beloved crime dramas, Leno has accomplished a stunning feat, however, he has also managed to burn countless bridges with a move many are saying was all designed to “up” David Letterman by appearing before Letterman in the 10 p.m. slot.

Our mission is clear, if you watch quality TV and want to keep watching quality TV then do not watch Lay Leno, as the viewer you have the power to force Leno out of his ego chair and into a rocking chair. Let’s face it, Leno will do just fine in his retirement, dusting off his outrageous car collection.

Leno said it himself stating, “TV is dying” Leno’s right, Leno should know- Leno’s the one trying to kill it.

Conan is getting the shaft, I hope he goes to FOX in Sept. when his non compete is up and kicks ass. Leno is a tool. Conan was the next man up he waited for his time to come and when it did it gets pulled away from him SHAME ON NBC. They were Dbags to Howard Stern when he was on WNBC look at him now. Hope Conan has similar fate. YOU GO COCO!

Thank you, Ryan. Yes, it’s time for ‘the Chin’, as they call him, to continue not being funny OFF the air. Conan is the rightful heir to the Late Show throne, so to speak, and was shafted because of Leno’s indecisiveness. I believe every actor and the American public should boycott Leno now, and when he appears, unfortunately again, on the Late Show. I am very much hoping to see ratings drop so terribly that the show is canceled immediately, and NBC is kicking themselves. An idea I’ve read on another blog was pretty good… Conan taking on a late show with another network, followed up by a late, late show hosted by Joel McHale. How they would take over late night television.
