Rapper Coolio pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine on Friday.  He’s about to enter an 18 month drug rehabilitation program, therefore avoiding jail time.

Coolio, real name Artis Leon Ivey Jr., got arrested on March 6 at LAX for felony narcotics possession.  Apparently, Coolio resisted arrest at the time but in exchange for his guilty plea those charges will be dropped.  He must have some good lawyers.

Coolio lucked out.  He could have ended up in prison for three years because of the charges.  Now, he faces no jail time.

Coolio is best known for his hit, Grammy-winning song “Gangster’s Paradise”.
