In an interview with DigitalSpy.com, Wes Craven talks about some more of those good old “Scream” movies that’ll be coming your way pretty soon.
About Scream 4-
“Bob Weinstein (The Weinstein Company co-chairman) has talked to me, he’s interested in me directing it. I had a brief conversation with Kevin [Williamson], I know that Kevin is writing. That’s where it’s at and I’m not expecting a script until August. I don’t think it’s a reboot and Kevin, when he talked to me, said, ‘Remember, it’s not just Scream 4, it’s Scream 5 and 6.’ So I guess he has a trilogy in mind. I don’t know what the premise is or anything.”
On returning cast members:
“I’ve been told, and I don’t think they’ll mind if I say this, the deals on David Arquette and Courteney are virtually set. I believe everybody else will be new.”
Holy-moly, what about bringing Skeet Ulrich and Neve Campbell back? What about Matthew Lillard for gosh sakes? I’m only partially joking, I spent at least 1 year and a few months drooling over Skeet Ulrich. Give me a break, he’s the poor man’s Johnny Depp after all.
I must say I am about 22% intrigued about the casting of newer characters. Perhaps Mike Epps and Chace Crawford can join the cast with Stephanie Tanner from Full House? Maybe they should make it a musical murder mystery. I’d definitely maybe watch that.
