Where do celebs keep their precious gems?
Cate Blanchett- She says it roams around the house. “It’s been in the study recently. It moves around a bit like my family and I do. I don’t look at it every day though.”
Hilary Swank- “They’re in the family room—on a great shelf, next to my books.”
Jennifer Hudson: “For the last year I’ve kept it in my empty new house—I had no time to decorate. But I finally got to shop this Christmas and bought a pedestal for it that I keep lit. Where I come from, no one has ever seen an Oscar. So I let people take pictures with it—but I do not allow them to touch it. Sorry, no touching the Oscar! It’s the ultimate honor, and I need to protect it.”
Jodie Foster: “I used to keep them in the bathroom because they looked good with the faucets. But when they started getting corroded on the bottom, I had to move them to a trophy case in my den.”
Jamie Foxx: “My manager holds the Oscar. He keeps it at his crib. I got too much traffic at my house!”
Tom Hanks: “Where are they now? They are on the family trophy shelf, next to the soccer trophies. I think the World’s Greatest Mom trophy from Mother’s Day is up there as well.”
Melissa Ethridge: “It’s been in my bedroom, on the mantel. For a year I’ve been able to wake up every morning, look at the Oscar and go, ‘Ahhh …’ Wherever I sleep, that’s where I’ll keep it!”
Cuba Gooding Jr.: “For six years it was in our old house in Coldwater Canyon. We had a wine cabinet, and it sat behind the glass on one of the shelves. People would say, ‘Is that it?’ The cabinet was temperature controlled because of the wine, so the Oscar stayed beaming new. Now that I keep it out in the open in my screening room, it has become tarnished—which is kind of cool. It’s starting to age and get character. Like me.” (SNOOZEFEST)
Susan Sarandon- “I keep my Oscar in the guest bathroom. We call it the Famous Bathroom. It’s very crowded in there now because the walls are covered with framed nominations. By the way, Tim [Robbins]’s Oscar is slightly taller than mine. I don’t know why.”
